Brief introduction


The Hopkinson pressure bar is a specialized equipment to study the dynamic mechanical properties of materials under one-dimensional stress state.

It's used to determine the stress and strain characteristics of material under dynamic impact. It's mainly used to obtain the stress-strain curve of metal material, composite material. 


Working principle


High pressure air source supply power and high precision launch pipe supply acceleration channel, use impact rod to strike the Incident rod and transmission rod, thus to apply axial load on the sample between incident rod and transmission rod; strain gauge generates electric signal and acquired by data acquisition system, and software will process the data.

 

Structure


The Hopkinson pressure bar is mainly comprised of launch device, gun barrel, incident rod, transmission rod, absorption rod, buffer, guide rail, base, speedometer, high pressure air source.
